Ab Hoving (Groningen, The Netherlands, 1947) has been working as lead restorer of model ships at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam between 1989 and 2012. He was involved in the creation of replicas such as the Duyfken in Australia, the Stateniacht Utrecht and the revised design of Michiel de Ruyter's De 7 Provincièn in Lelystad, The Netherlands.
